The Deanery is under the Omophorion of Archbishop Nicholas Marius Sidau, who is the Archbishop of Detroit and the Archeparchy of St. Peter the Aleut. The Archeparchy is under the Orthodox Church of Nations and His Beatitude Nicholas I in Paris, France. The Dean is the first amongst equals, in the Deanery. He calls his brother priests to convene for meetings that address the problems of the deanery and settles parochial disputes should they arise. The Dean acts as the local Ordinary of the Deanery and representative of the Archeparchy in the Southeast. Below you will find more information about our current Dean.
Fr. Adomnan Bartimaeus, is a Mitred Archpriest of the Archeparchy of St. Peter the Aleut, an Archeparchy of the Patriarchat Orthodoxe des Nationes. He spent several years in a traditional Roman Catholic community until he joined the Eastern Churches in 2015. After serving and worshipping in these churches for almost 10 years, Fr. Bartimaeus made the decision to the join the Orthodox Patriarchate of the Nations one of the largest autocephalous Orthodox Churches in the world.
Fr. Bartimaeus has a Master of Arts in Catechetics and Evangelization from Franciscan University and has spent much of his post-graduate research in patristics, trinitarian theology and mystical theology. Currently, he is studying for a second Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy to best serve the Church at large and families that are in need of healing and guidance. He aims to help protect the sanctity of marriage and to repair marital relationships in the Church. As a US Army Veteran, he is also working on a certification in Clinical Military Counseling and hopes to help his fellow Veterans in overcoming the challenges associated with the military community.
He is bi-ritual in both the Eastern and Western rites and is a liturgist to the heart, believing that true worship to God is found to be orderly and mystical in its operation to give hearts to the Father through Jesus. He currently is the Pastor of All Saint's Orthodox Church in Cleveland, GA and is a missionary priest to the Presentation of the Lord Western Orthodox mission in Cumming, GA. He obtains the approval from the Archbishop for the formation of new missions. Fr. Bartimaeus is also the Abbot of the Order of St. Columba of Iona. A Western rite Fraternity of Men who live the Rule of St. Columba and work to build missions in the western rite according to the Divine Liturgy of St. Tikhon of Moscow, or St. John the Divine (the Celtic rite liturgy of the Orthodox Church).
