It was in the night, just as Christ was born, so was Fr. Skylar born again as Fr. Lawrence in the Order of St. Columba. A community of clerics in the Western-rite devoted to the Celtic and Anglican spirituality, the Order of St. Columba requires a man to live the Rule of St. Columba and to meditate on the rule of St. Columbanus. The community's primary goal to proclaim Christ to the world with the development of missions and preaching the Gospel. The Order acts as a fraternity of clerics devoted to the reinvigoration of the West through the Western rite of the Orthodox Church. As the Orthodox Church has a married clergy, all clerics are able to join, married or single, just like the Orthodox Celts in the 6th through 9th centuries.
Fr. Skylar will live the rule for the next three years and then take his permanent vows to live under the rule for the rest of his life. The Order meets quarterly and is active in its missionary role in Georgia where it is based. Please keep Fr. Skylar in your prayers as he conducts his mission work and as he lives out this Holy life.
