This is the purpose of priesthood, to become the Bishop's hands and feet in the world. One might say, "hold on isn't it Christ's hands and feet to the world" and you would be right, but those who are ordained to the priesthood are expected to participate in the mission of the Bishop and represent him wherever the Priest goes. In this regard, the Priest becomes the hands and feet of the Bishop as the Bishop is the hands and feet of Christ. Those interested in becoming Priests should contact the pastor and attend services regularly at a local parish. If there is no parish nearby, they may attend other Orthodox parishes, but they will need to set a mission plant once ordained to the Diaconate, or set one during their discernment which would lead to their ordination with the growth of the community.
The process of becoming a clergyman in the Deanery is very straightforward. Those interested in the Sacred Ministry should be attached to one of its missions, or parishes, under the spiritual fathership of one of our Priests. This priest will send letters of reference for the man to enter into seminary formation.
