The Coat of Arms for the Confraternity is the Image of St. Michael, sword brandished, on top of a red cross in a field of gold. The underlying shield, a red cross of a field of gold is the original flag of Byzantium and the Eastern Roman Empire.
A Confraternity is a group of people who actively participate in a singular action in communal prayer or other devotional practices.
Since the beginning of the Celtic mind, there has always been a deep devotion to St. Michael the Archangel. Today we are seeing the worst cases of spiritual attack, possession, oppression and infestation in the world. This is mostly due to the American Society moving back to the Occult and to Occult activities. A recent article came out of the Vatican stated that they has seen a drastic rise of exorcisms performed throughout the Western hemisphere last year. These were confirmed cases of Exorcism. There has been a continual presence of the enemy noticed and employed against the people of God in various ways and we need to once more develop the devotion to St. Michael as the Columban Priests once did. The Dean, with the blessing of the Archbishop, has decided to respond to the rise of the enemy in force by the develop of the Confraternity of St. Michael the Archangel.
The Confraternity of St. Michael the Archangel seeks to bring the people of God together in prayer to pray for the deliverance of souls from the devil through devotion to St. Michael in the various forms of prayer that are concurrent with the Orthodox faith.
This Confraternity will pray daily either the St. Michael Chaplet, the St. Michael Prayer of the Celtic Peoples, or the St. Michael Prayers found in the Akathist.
Weekly, members should go to confession to their Anam-Chara (Priest/Soul-Friend) and receive absolution of their sins.
Monthly, they should pray the Akathist of St. Michael the Archangel either by themselves or in community.
It is highly encouraged that members work to actively recruit local members that they can pray with on a regular basis and develop local chapters of the Confraternity. It is also highly encouraged that a Priest be represented as the Chaplain of the Confraternity so that he can receive new members, bless medallions/holy cards and pray the holy mysteries for its members either in confession/Mass (Divine Liturgy), etc.
All chaplains must be a Priest in good standing from either the Orthodox, or Catholic faith. We do not believe that Orders are valid outside of these two communities. We recognize the efficacy of Catholic Priests in performing the rites of Exorcism and acknowledge from that reality that the Orders are Valid. Therefore, a Chaplain for this Confraternity can only be an Orthodox, or Catholic, Priest in good standing with his Bishop.
Priests are required to do the following:
